Health check – we listen to what you are wondering about
Many people ask for a “full check”. That doesn't really exist – but we are happy to do a thorough assessment. If you are worried about something or have a symptom, we listen, examine you and take the tests that make sense for you. Book on Helsenorge and write what you are wondering about.
The major diseases
We pay special attention to what matters most for your long-term health: heart and vascular disease, stroke, cancer and dementia. Blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar matter from around 40 – earlier if they run in the family.
Lifestyle
Sleep, food, activity, smoking, snus and alcohol. If you want to change something, we will help – and the municipality's Healthy Life Centre (Frisklivssentralen) can follow you up.
National screening programmes – you get a letter
- Age 25–69
Cervical screening
Recommended every five years. We take the sample here at the practice – book an appointment when you get the letter.
- Women aged 50–69
Mammography
A breast X-ray every other year. You get an appointment in the post.
- Age 55
Bowel screening
Everyone is offered a stool test the year they turn 55. You take it at home and send it by post.
